Here is my first ever abstract painting. It is called "Colors of Santa Fe." The scan suffers from the same problem as the orchid--shadow because it is too big to lie flat on the scanner bed.
I am in the process of becoming a botanical artist. I first studied basic drawing and water color with an amazing artist and teacher named Cori Lapin-Cohen. She teaches at Lasdon Arboretum in Northern Westchester. Now I have decided to expand my technique by working toward a certificate in botanical illustration at the New York Botanical Garden. The NYBG is one of the premiere places in the world to be trained. The teachers are all professional artists with a passion for what they do.
